How ThirdLove Is DominatingTomorrow, online bra brand ThirdLove is opening its first retail store, a temporary pop-up in Manhattan that will run through the end of the year. Fast-growing startups like ThirdLove have technology bred into their bones, and it's exciting to see how the company is disrupting the bra and underwear industry with its innovative use data, machine learning, and tiered loyalty and referral programs.
Around the same time, Kira told a consultant at the company, a leadership coach who worked closely with Spector, that she wanted to meet with the executive: Almost verbatim she said ‘Dave is a deeply insecure man, make sure you pat his ego throughout your conversation and that you don't surprise him.
As an online company, ThirdLove relies upon millions of data points from customer feedback to engineer its new products — and for the last four years, one request has been constant: A cotton bra that women can live in. For the last two years, ThirdLove has been designing its response.
But in 2013, Heidi Zak along with her husband David Spector (both ex-Google execs) set out on a mission to revolutionize that experience - using technology to improve the product in terms of fit and comfort, as well as how bras are delivered to the customer and how customer loyalty is maintained.
This was evident with many of their choices such as the ever growing list of requirements for the stylists that weren't even possible (it was incredibly hard to try and defend their decisions when stylists would often come to me stressed and overworked), micromanaging their employees to where you could get an occurrence for using the bathroom (I was in a meeting where a manager was scared she would have to write up a pregnant stylist for this), letting go SF teammates that worked with the Chico office for no reason, and most recently doing a restructuring of the company” forcing support teammates that worked hard for this company for years to move up to either get demoted down to a fit stylist (starting) position or quit though no one did anything wrong.
ThirdLove announced on Thursday its first experiential retail store concept, which launches on July 24 and will remain open through the end of 2019, according to a company press release The store will be located at 347 West Broadway in New York City.
Provider of lingerie and underwear designed to offer the perfect fit for every company's lingerie comes in 78 sizes which are 40 more than traditional brands, enabling women of every shape to get their desired underwear size that are free from lousyness and bad fits.
Shopping here also includes the often invaluable perk of an energetic customer service team and a 100% fit guarantee (If you take the company's Fit Finder and order the wrong size, ThirdLove will work to get you into the perfect fit at no further cost, donating the bras you don't keep to a women's shelter if necessary).
After taking the measurements of millions of women, the company introduced the industry's first half-cup sizing and developed an algorithm using the data collected to match each woman with the right size for them. In the better quality bras, this fit will be consistent enough that you can order a bra in a new style and chances are high it will fit.
The search to finding a well-fitting bra can be a sport in itself, and often times, ends with many women resigning themselves to a lifetime of discomfort by purchasing the wrong size or fit. ThirdLove and Spector declined to comment on this accusation but through their legal representation did emphasize that it is Zak and not Spector who is truly running the company.
