The signs mentioned in Matthew 24 would precede the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. Only God knows when Christ will come at the end of the world. He will come suddenly and unexpectedly like a thief in the night; therefore we must always be ready for His coming. His coming at the end of the world will be like the days of Noah (vv. 37-39). They talk of how everything of value can be taken in a second. Don’t put your hope in the things of this Earth, they say. The universe must be explainable, and God must be in control of its fate.

It may seem that way, but ultimately, the vision is encouraging, hopeful, and glorious. This is why He instructs him to write it down plainly so people will understand it and be encouraged by it—and thus run. He also says, "I will not pass by . . . any more." This means that judgment is coming, and however this judgment falls, that is it!
They are going to be gathered from the corners of the earth and to Him. Whatever is difficult about these passages, Jesus has also given us many truths, which are very clear, which we can hang on to. It would be hard to decisively connect the dots here if you weren’t raised, as I was, to believe in a very specific idea of Armageddon. Well before I learned the history of all of America’s actual wars, my conservative Presbyterian church taught me about the battle that would bring about the end times.

There will be international guarantees, protecting Jerusalem, enforced by a superpower. But these guarantees will also enforce the pseudo-Christianity of a revived Roman Empire. There will be a revived Pax Romana ("Roman Peace"), imposed by what the Bible calls the end-time "beast" . God will once again use the descendants of Assyria to punish the descendants of the ancient House of Israel. God will use modern-day Germany to conquer the American and British-descended peoples. Germany is presently the leading nation of the European Union, and will play a central role in end-time prophecy.
These usually happened with more extreme situations, when it was dangerous for the prophets to proclaim these prophecies. It wasn’t until about 50 years ago that the ideas started to take on an unhealthy political bent. The 1948 creation of the state of Israel meant that the end-times clock was ticking, and the founding of NATO and the U.N.
Now, I don’t believe that there any magic keys or techniques to evangelism, but I think this has the potential to be a very fruitful avenue of discussion with a Jewish person and I would recommend it. Again, ask them what they think the New Covenant is. Ask them if they think it could be true that Jesus Christ was the one who inaugurated, set in motion, and established the New Covenant. Secondly, I think you’re making a little bit of a leap in logic by saying that a person can’t be a king without someone to reign over. God, even before He created anything, was still a King.

Historicism interprets the writing as a prophetic and panoramic overview of history, from the first century until the second coming of Christ. This would seem to be a necessary condition for divine justice. For if all humanity would be judged by God in the end, then everyone living should at least have heard the Christian message of salvation in order that he or she can decide to believe or not to believe. His Catholic views are good to keep in mind, even as one ponders the Apocalyptic messages of today’s watchmen and women recounting visions and interpreting the Bible. Many of those pronouncements assert that heavenly manifestations are happening very soon. Future columns will recap the most widely followed of these reputed visionaries, especially those with ample Scripture bases for their messages.
Socialism is a plan to subvert God’s dispensation of riches, so it’s not wrong to kick more than a half-million people off of food stamps amid a pandemic. Women’s rights seek to subvert the hierarchy God created for the home, while immigration leads to pluralism, a watering down of America’s Christian essence. The coronavirus is a punishment that entered America through its most liberal cities, and a proactive response to the virus is an overreach of a government that would emasculate men by usurping their God-given autonomy over the safety of the family.

In other words, He told His disciples that these things were going to happen, before they happened, in order that they would have confidence in His Word. And so Jesus warns us and this strengthens us to believe when He tells us something is going to happen. If we look forward then to verse 26, He goes on to say, that His coming is not going to be in private. It is not going to be something concealed from the general public. Then again, if we look at verse 27, He says, that His coming is going to be sudden and unmistakable.
Dr. David Jeremiah’s three-step process infuses hope into each of the prophetic events unfolding around us. "People who dismiss the significance of the Year 2000 computer crisis are deceiving themselves," Wiles writes. "But the Trinity has come down and looked us over," he said.
